Stopping a campaign
How to prevent remaining MailG rows from sending when there is no Pause UI yet.
MailG does not yet ship a dedicated Manage Schedule, Abort, or Pause screen. You can still stop remaining rows from sending by changing campaign statuses in the sheet.
Pick the scenario that matches where you are:
1. Scheduled campaign that has not started
If every row is still 🗓️ Scheduled (or legacy Scheduled) and the start time has not arrived:
- Open the spreadsheet.
- Clear the campaign status cells (or the whole campaign column) for rows that must not send.
- Optionally remove or change the schedule in the dialog before creating a new job.
When the clock reaches the old start time, the queue will not pick up rows that no longer have a sendable status.
2. Campaign already sending (mid-run)
Act quickly on a large campaign — the first rows may already be out:
- Open the spreadsheet (keep the tab focused).
- In the campaign status column, clear or change the status on rows that must not send (delete the cell value, or set a non-sendable label such as
Stopped). - Leave already-✉️ Sent / 👀 Opened rows alone.
How sending decides what to process
The send loop only processes rows whose campaign-column status is still sendable:
- ⏳ Sending… / legacy
Pending... - 🗓️ Scheduled / legacy
Scheduled
Rows already marked ✉️ Sent, ⚠️ Failed, or 👀 Opened are skipped.
Rows you clear/change will no longer match the sendable statuses, so the queue skips them on the next pass.
3. Messages already sent
Already sent cannot be recalled
Gmail messages that already left the account cannot be unsent by MailG. Stopping only protects rows that have not been processed yet. There is no 5-second Abort dialog and no in-app “Undo send” for the whole campaign.
